Terms of Service and License
444LIVE's legal pages are available in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and 444LIVE, operated by SHIH SENMING in Taiwan ("we", "us"). They cover this website and every 444LIVE software product, including 444LTC (the "Software"). By downloading, installing or using the Software, you agree to these terms.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all orders. Lemon Squeezy handles payment, sales tax and invoices, and its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Depending on where you are, tax may be added at checkout.
Your license
When you buy the Software, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the version you bought.
Each license covers one (1) Mac. The Software may ask you to activate your license on that computer. If you replace your computer, contact us and we will help you move your license.
Updates within the major version you bought (for example, every 1.x release) are included at no extra cost. Future major versions may be offered as paid upgrades.
Free trial
The Software can be used free for 30 days, with every feature, so you can evaluate it. After the trial ends, you need a license to keep using it.
What you may not do
You may not share, resell or publish your license key; remove or get around the Software's licensing; or copy or redistribute the Software, except for the open-source components described below. You may not reverse engineer the Software except where the law allows it.
Third-party software and trademarks
The Software includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms, including Python (Python Software Foundation License), FFmpeg and LAME (GNU Lesser General Public License), gRPC (Apache License 2.0), Protocol Buffers (BSD 3-Clause) and py-ptsl (BSD 3-Clause). Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses. Where a license requires it, the corresponding source code is available on request at support@444livestudio.com.
Pro Tools is a trademark of Avid Technology, Inc. Ableton and Ableton Live are trademarks of Ableton AG. 444LIVE is not affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
Check before the show
Timecode drives lighting, video and other show systems. The Software decodes and checks every file it creates, but you are responsible for confirming the result in your own system before rehearsals and performances, and for keeping backups.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the Software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including cancelled or disrupted performances, lost income or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be changed by contract.
Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Ending the license
If you break these terms, your license ends. When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. Changes never take away rights to a version you have already bought.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), and the courts of Taiwan have jurisdiction, unless the consumer protection laws of your country say otherwise.
